Welcome to Manila, Utah

Home of the Flaming Gorge

Manila Utah, a short three hour drive from the hustle and bustle of Salt Lake City, Manila exists as a small, quiet community offering a completely unique experience. The valley opens wide at your feet and the pollution free evening skies are filled with stars that seem almost within reach. In winter, the valley is surrounded by snow laden mountains, providing breath taking views. A multitude of wild animals including deer, antelope, rabbit, fox, bobcat, and the occasional mountain lion, share Manila with the local population. Whatever you desire in outdoor adventure, you are bound to find it here within the cedar, juniper, aspen and/or pine covered mountains rising to the south, and scenic desert formations fading into the northern horizon. Tucked comfortably against the hillsides, Manila rests on a valley which quietly overlooks the immense beauty of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

We welcome you to our town and invite you to stay as long as you would like, hoping your visit to Manila Utah will be filled with lasting memories.

May 2017 Newsletter

Summer is fast approaching and with it we would like to welcome back our summer residents and visitors! One of the first events scheduled in May is the Flaming Gorge Fishing Derby May 20-21st sponsored by the Lucerne Valley Marina, Cabelas and Sportsmans Warehouse. We wish all participants “Good Luck”!

The Town of Manila would like to recognize Curtis Hyde, one of our public works employees, who has successfully completed his Water Certification requirements and is now a certified water operator. His new skills will greatly benefit the Town of Manila’s public works system.

Last Summer, Daggett County sponsored a Farmer’s Market. They are seeking feedback in continuing this event. Please send any pertinent comments to...

We appreciate those individuals who pay their utility bills on time. In the past we have given individuals up to three months to pay their outstanding bills without incurring a late charge. However, in accordance to Ordinance 8-09-12, we will now be assessing a $5.00 monthly late fee for all unpaid bills.

The Town of Manila is in the process of applying for needed funds from the Community Impact Board (CIB) for critical sewer and water infrastructure improvements and upgrades. We will keep you informed of our progress as it becomes available.

See you in Manila!

Mayor Gretchen Northcott
