Daylight Savings time: Remember to set your clocks BACK one hour on Sunday November 1st for daylight savings.

Landfill Winter hours: Beginning Saturday November 7th, winter hours will begin for the Manila Class II Landfill.  The facility will only be open the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. and each Monday from 9:00 A.M. until noon.

Municipal election: Remember to exercise your right to vote on Tuesday November 3rd.  The polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Senior Citizens Center.

Manila Fire: Four of our fire personnel attended the Utah Academy and received training in arson investigation, fire safety and rescue, highbred vehicles, and emergency extrication.  Another four are scheduled to attend the Wyoming Winter Academy in January 2010.  The department, with the assistance of the Sweetwater Fire District personnel and house fire simulator, conducted a fire safety session for all elementary classes.

Meter replacements: A Drinking Water grant of $560,000 will fund the total meter replacement for the Manila Water System.  All meters will become Radio Read meters and the project will start this fall/winter.

Santa Elfs Program: Donations are being sought for the program which will provide Christmas gifts, clothing, food, and other essentials for the area families.  If you care to give please contact Andrea Scott at 435-784-3143.  This is an opportunity to ensure children have a Merry Christmas.

Capital Improvements: The Manila Council has established the capital improvements list for the coming funding year and also examined the needs of the community for the next five years.  This list will provide a guideline for preparing funding applications for necessary projects.

November Holidays: The Manila office will be closed for Veterans Day on November 11th.  The Thanksgiving holiday will find the Manila Office closed on November 26th and 27th, Thursday and Friday so that staff can celebrate with family.  The Council, Mayor and Staff wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving holiday.
