March 2017 Newsletter
Winter has returned! Just when we were getting used to our “February Thaw” and feeling like Spring was around the corner, Mother Nature has reminded us that we aren’t done with winter yet. March has come in “like a Lion”! Stay warm and travel safely.
The Town of Manila would like to thank Ruby Hoover for serving on the Town Council for nearly 3 ½ years. We wish her well in her future plans. The Town Council will be appointing a new member of the Council at our next meeting on March 9th.
Advance Notification: The Town Office will be closed March 20-24. The staff will be attending a Clerks Conference all week. In case of emergencies (regarding public works—not billing/account concerns), call our temporary answering service 435-778-0346. Payments can still be made online, mail, or dropped in the outside slot. If building permits are needed they are available on the town website: manilautah.com. The staff will be back in the office on March 27th. Thank You.
Training/Conferences: Jerry Muir and Curtis Hyde have recently returned from the annual Rural Water Conference in St. George where they have received updated professional training to help enhance the quality of services to our customers.
The focus for our recent Town Council meetings has been on updating Town policies. We are making progress on our safety, administrative and personnel issues.
Enjoy March — Spring is almost here!
