February 2017 Newsletter

Advance Notification: There will be NO curbside trash pickup by the Town of Manila employees on Monday, February 27th due to a training conference out of town. However, the landfill will still be open on Monday, February 27th from 9:00-12 pm. Garbage Pickup will be done Tuesday, February 28th.

Advance Notification: The Town Office will be closed March 20-24. The staff will be attending a Clerks Conference all week. Payments can still be made online, mail, or dropped in the outside slot. If building permits are needed they are available on the town website: manilautah.com. Thank you for your understanding as we provide important training for our employees.

Roads: The Town of Manila has recently formulated a Road Management Plan which includes the maintenance/improving of our paved roads, upgrading our gravel roads, and developing preliminary engineering plans to improve town drainage. The Flaming Gorge Road & Travel Special Service District has been supportive throughout this process. They have agreed to help fund the Town of Manila with a $60,000.00 grant. This will include a stock pile of gravel for road base and money for an engineering analysis of the Town roads and storm drainage system. We greatly appreciate their financial support. Also, special thanks to council member Ross Catron for his expertise in this area and for helping the Town develop the Management Plan.

Winter Blues: The winter season comes with its share of difficulties. Some residents have had problems with frozen water meters and water lines. We would like to remind everyone that if you need your water shut off to please call the town office so we can assist you. The water meters need to be accessed by the public works employees only.

Thank you to all those who have assisted with snow removal after the winter storms. Our town roads are being plowed by our Public Works employees and it is wonderful to see neighbors helping neighbors with their driveways and walkways.

Stay Warm: Spring will soon be on its way!
